Pleinfeld offers many routes and good paths for this sport in a countryside cultural-scened landscape. The panorama-training-tour „Pleinfeld-Ramsberg“ is clearly marked with imaged signs. This route takes you through an ever changing countryside along a chain of ponds through a shadowy forest. The route may be used by beginners as well as experienced skaters.
We suggest beginners take the fairly flat route – starting at the train station in Pleinfeld or the „nature friends house“ (parking space available), through the village of St. Veit – along the „Veiter Ponds“, up to the sports centre in Ramsberg. From here you can take a lefthand turn and cross over the access road to the village, going on to Veitserlbach, Thannhausen and Langlau. We suggest especially for beginners to think about their own physical condition and the return distance which still must be made.
Experienced skaters take the same route as just described up to the sports centre in Ramsberg. Here you turn right and follow the respective imaged signs over the train station hill (passable only uphill), to Ramsberg. After the train station about halfway up the hill you turn right once again and go towards the cemetery. By-pass the cemetery and then turn right and go eastward. Attention! - After about 200 metres you arrive at a strong descending hill with about 8% declination including a S-shaped curve, so please skate carefully! The rest of the course brings you back over St. Veit to Pleinfeld to your starting point.
Secondary course: Over the train station hill in Ramsberg to the parking area at the lake or from the sport park in Pleinfeld over the cycling route to the lake.
