We are very happy to welcome all hiking enthusiasts to Pleinfeld at Lake Brombach. You will find next to many interesting attractions, a clearly marked network of paths for hiking and cycling. The wide meadow valley of the Swabian Rezat area and the tributary valleys of Igelsbach, Arbach, Banzerbach and Brombach invite you to take restful walks or extended hiking tours.
We have a large range of attractions for hiking enthusiasts who enjoy walking miles and miles in the Franconian Lake District. As a whole, we can offer more than 130 km marked hiking paths for enthusiastic hikers. A wide range of hiking and adventure tours with qualified competent guides are being offered during the months from May to October. Our guests become an informative impression of the plants, animals and history of the region.
You can take for example, a hike on the trails of the once ruling bishops through Pleinfeld. Those ruling bishops had strongly influenced the history of the market community for precisely 500 years. A multitude of different evidences of that time still give information about that age today.
Or just follow the Roman trail along the UNESCO - cultural heritage Limes Romanus. This border defense or delimiting system of Ancient Rome marked the boundaries of the Roman Empire (known as "Devilswall"). It lies from the west borderstone of Dorsbrunn, which can easily be seen, over Gündersbach and the Lauterbrunnmühle onwards to Ottmarsfeld. A watchtower with parts of the ancient wall foundation can be seen on the road from Dorsbrunn to Thannhausen, here is an information board.
You can relive the Age of the Celts, in Arbachtal. Just follow hiking path no. 77.
